Police identify 29-year-old killed by gunmen on street

A 31-year-old man died on Friday a week after being shot multiple times in Brampton. Officers found the man lying in the middle of the 700 block of Bloor Street West, where a short while later he was pronounced dead.

The man had been in a van when shots were fired into the vehicle. He was found lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later transferred to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Global News reported.

Toronto Police said that the victim’s family is in need of prayers. “The family is holding out hope that the incident was mistaken,” the Toronto Police told The Toronto Star. “Police have not been able to find any co-habitant of the victim, although the male was known to police.”

The Toronto Star reported that next of kin were notified on Friday and that investigators have “no suspects or persons of interest at this time.”
